The new filling is made from a very hard substance and will withstand the forces in your mouth when you bite and chew over a long period of time. What is a filling?

What should I expect at my filling appointment?

A filling is a common treatment that is often carried out under local anaesthetic, numbing the area to ensure it can be carried out without discomfort. The dentist will often take X-rays to assess the extent of damage and the size of the filling that is required.

The tooth is then cleaned and disinfected, all the decay is removed, and the tooth is prepared before the filling is placed. The dentist will then smooth and polish the filling and check the bite to ensure comfort and function for the patient.

You should then be able to eat and drink as normal a few hours after the appointment once the anaesthetic has worn off.

What types of fillings are there?

Good clean and welcoming dental practice. I took both of my children to get their teeth checked during the children's day during the half-term. They had colouring, face painting, children's TV shows , balloon, gift bags and very understanding staff. I would recommend this dental practice. As a Specialist Oral surgeon I’m lucky that I’ve not needed much Dentistry. I think we surgeons make the worst patients. I recently cracked a virgin tooth, the crack had propagated into the nerve. I’ve never know pain like it. Kreena has been a colleague that I have admired from afar and consulted a few times. For me there was only one choice. 7 hour round trip from Leicester to Brigstock to see this amazingly talented young lady. She is a consummate professional and excellent at her job. It has been agreeably modernised over the years, introducing online use for booking, etc. Also, there have been changes, e. g. retirement of the top man. Saw Mr Hussain, the new dentist. I started off by explaining that I have a real fear of dentists, he was absolutely fantastic, explained what he was doing and then discussed what we could do with a particular tooth. Couldn’t be more impressed with this dentist surgery. First visit was for wisdom tooth extraction. I have been with Bristock Dentist for sometime now. I had gum disease and was referred to the hygienist for treatment.I met with this amazing, wonderful and lovely lady Nusarat Jahan who treated me with respect and love.
